The speech during his first and last Haj is very famous. Similarly the speech of Aboobacker just after Prophet's passing away was like a new revelation even to Omar al Khattab.

Even in our life we have heard many speeches which shaped us and our life into what it is today. Sometimes we hear speeches which we immensely wish to share with others. Friends, colleagues, family and every single human being on the earth.

Some of them are relevant in the contemporary context. Live issues for example. Some of them are valuable irrespective of its times.

This site is an attempt to make available speeches worth listening to be available in an easy reach to everyone having an internet connection. The old way of distributing audio through cassette is getting impractical very fast. When things are available by the click of few buttons, the prospect of cassettes seems out of place. If not now it'll soon be.

The dream is to have the facility to choose any audio we want to listen when we have nothing else to do (for example, while we are driving). The kind of speed technology is advancing, it looks like that it'll be a reality in the next 1 to 5 years. We shall be able to listen only to what we want to listen in our car stereo, through our mobile phone or at the comfort of our home.

Though we are not there yet, still making the speeches available by then on the internet is very much a useful idea. If we all does participate in making this kind of sites or share in building it or listening and making valuable suggestions, we shall have a good number of worthwhile and valuable speeches online by then. Once things are online, we will have the flexibility we wish we should have in choosing the right speech and the right time and the right place to listen to any of them. We will have the facility to choose the most popular speech, or the latest one by our favourite speaker or on any particular topic or just a part of some speech somebody quoted. We will get the chance to hear many speeches of our times which otherwise we will never listen either because we didn't know about it or wasn't able to get a copy of it.

I hope speeches delivered at public places are non-copyrighted. The speeches on this site are assumed to be copyright free and if anyone feel otherwise, they shall kindly alert the webmaster.

A song of 5 minutes duration takes about 3 to 3.5 MB in MP3 format. But the speeches can be compressed further. The speeches on this site takes about 1 K for each second. Thus, the size of an hour of speech comes to about 3 to 4 MB which is verymuch in the downloadable range. Since they are speeches, the quality is not bad.

I have noticed that if .WAV files are registered to be palyed with mplayer2.exe (on WINxx platforms), listening while it is getting downloaded is possible. Once the download is complete, you can even keep a copy of it locally. Enough blah blah.. try it here right away
